Design and Validation of an Open Source Cloud Native Mobile Network

Network technologies are embracing the cloud-native paradigm, following current best practices in cloud computing. Cloud-native might be applied to different types of network functions a mobile network, but they particularly relevant nowadays for core functions, as recent standard introduces service-based architecture that matches modern such Docker and Kubernetes. In parallel, number open source software initiatives already provide researchers practitioners with usable implements key functionality (for both LTE 5G). These solutions, however, monolithic not integrated into state-of-the-art frameworks. this article, we fill gap by describing implementation which supports channel emulation provides an affordable scalable way testing orchestration algorithms standardized VIM interfaces. Our experimental evaluation shows applicability our solution, is released illustrates its flexibility.
